The
annals of history are, sadly, replete with tales of wars fought with swords and magic.
The Battle of the Thousand Hills (ISC 1039/1043) is arguably the most tragic and heroic of
these tales. For those unfamiliar with the story, a lone wizard, Camaray of Kranz-wryz,
held at bay of army of seventy thousand for nearly four Standard years.
And here, available for purchase, is the sole surviving remnant of Camaray's legendary
Staff!
But not only the Staff can be yours. Carefully preserved beneath a layer of
kraken-oil, the frame which supports the Staff also displays the only other surviving remnant of the
the Battle for the Thousand Hills -- a page taken from the field notes of an Emperial
wizard, showing the intact Staff and containing notes about its powers and possible weaknesses!
Aha, many of you are perhaps thinking. Is this perhaps the same Shattered Staff and
scrap of parchment that were revealed as clever forgeries by the Museum of Thaumaturgical
History on Pledth a few years ago?
I assure you it is not. The forgery in question is now safely locked away in the Museum's vaults,
where it serves as an educational item to archivists and collectors learning to spot the
tell-tale signs of expert forgery. What we offer here, though, is the genuine article,
complete with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Museum's Deputy of Antiquities herself!
The Shattered Staff measures 14 Earth inches long. The display frame measures 16 inches long by
ten inches high. The Staff's jeweled head is gone, of course, vaporised along with most of
Camaray's mountain in the course of his final spell. The remaining portion of the Staff is
carefully preserved inside a coating of glossy kraken oil, which will maintain the Staff's enduring,
tragic beauty for centuries to come.
The Document showing the original Staff and containing notes and calculations in Old Empire
is also preserved in kraken oil. The runes, frame, and Staff-mounts are finished to a high gloss
and formed of woods native to Camaray's homeland Kranz-wryz.
Together, Staff and Ward-runes and Document make for a stunning piece of art -- one
sure to evoke comment, awe, and envy!
The Shattered Staff of Camaray, the display, the Runes, and the Document can be yours for $50 USD
plus $5.00 shipping and handling.
LATE NEWS! The Shattered Staff is already SOLD! Sorry, but if you'd like
